John McCain Archive

Fox News projects McCain will win the Republican presidential nomination given projected wins in Texas and Ohio tonight. Buena suerte, los Estados Unidos de America.

McCain was against it and now he’s for it.   The it is ”torture” or better known as the dreaded technique of waterboarding.  McCain voted AGAINST the senate bill to ban the use of waterboarding yesterday. Has McCain seen the light that dribbling water down a terrorist’s nose in an attempt to extract information that may save [...]

Despite Romney winning 41% of the first round of voting in West Virginia’s convention, McCain delegates threw their support behind Huckabee in round two.  The end result: Huckabee wins 52%  to Romney’s 48%. Just proves that Hucklenut is working for McCain and remains in this race only to be a spoiler for Romney. Here is the Romney press release [...]

Two polls recently out show Romney picking up steam in California (173 delegates at stake): Rasmussen has Romney and McCain tied at 38-38 and Zogby has Romney up by 3 points. UPDATE (2/4): Zogby has Romney up by 8 points in CA.

I took a look at the potential delegate outcomes for the Republican candidates on Super Tuesday, based on recent polls and whatever insights that could be tracked down for states without polling data. There are 21 states holding Republican primaries or caucuses representing 1,081 Republican delegates: AK (29), AL (48), AR (34), AZ (53), CA (173), CO (46), CT (30), DE (18), [...]

First it was Florida Senator Mel Martinez and now the AP is reporting that Florida Governor Charlie Crist will endorse McCain.  Not suprising, but this may take the wind out of Romney’s sails in what looks to be a dead heat based on the polls on Real Clear Politics.  Let’s hope Florida’s Republican voters are smarter than [...]

Yeah, right Bill.  If McCain is the Republican Presidential nominee, it won’t take long before all we hear about is the Keating Five.

Does the GOP run the risk of a Swift Boat-style veteran backlash against McCain if he is the 2008 Republican nominee?  There were rumblings of veteran discontent in 2000, but back then McCain ultimately didn’t get the Republican nomination. Jorge Bush did. This time things could turn out better for McCain and worse for the rest of us. Several [...]

Roberta McCain, mother of John McCain, when asked about her son’s support from the Republican base by Steve Scully of C-SPAN said: Roberta McCain: “I don’t think he has any. I don’t know what the base of the Repub–maybe I don’t know enough about it, but I’ve not seen any help whatsoever.” We can only hope [...]
