Yesterday, Radio & Records, a radio industry trade publication owned by Nielsen, decided to withdraw its Lifetime Achievement Award it was intending to bestow upon the grandfather of conservative talk radio, the great Bob Grant.  The reason?  Here is the post from Radio & Records website:

“Upon further review and consideration of Bob Grant’s complete body of work, Radio & Records has withdrawn its decision to present the 2008 News/Talk/Sports Lifetime Industry Achievement Award to Mr. Grant. R&R is sensitive to the diversity of our community and does not want the presentation of an award to Mr. Grant to imply our endorsement of past comments by him that contradict our values and the respect we have for all members of our community.”

Sounds like the pusillanimous folks at R&R are bowing to pressure from the lefties.

As a long time listener of Bob Grant since he took to the NYC airwaves nearly three decades ago, no one is more deserving of this award.  Long before it was fashionable, Bob Grant was sounding the alarm about the U.S. ”slipping and sliding toward third worldism” – the assault on Western culture, the decay of standards and morals, and the big one, massive third world immigration.  Bob always said what he meant and meant what he said, even when it costs him his broadcasting microphone. It is refreshing to contemplate that a man like Bob Grant will not cower and will not moderate his words as a result of this slight.

Bob Grant remains a giant among the many intellectual Lilliputians in the broadcasting field.  He will always remain beloved by his loyal fans, award or not.

Let’s hope his conservative talk radio host brethren will boycott the upcoming R&R Talk Radio Conference on March 13-15 where Bob Grant was expected to receive the award.
